Viewing days
On each auction page you will find information about the scheduled viewing day(s). Check the details to know when you can visit and inspect the lots.
Attending a viewing day gives you the opportunity to inspect the lots in person, assess their condition, and verify whether they meet your expectations. This can help you make a well-informed bidding decision and avoid any unexpected surprises after purchase as all lots are sold on an “as is, where is” basis.
In most cases, no prior registration is required to attend a viewing day. However, we recommend checking the specific auction details, as registration may be required for certain locations or events.
Auction location
In general, no forklift is available at the auction site. If a forklift is available, this will be explicitly stated in the auction details.
All visitors to the auction location are required to comply with applicable safety regulations. This may include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (such as safety shoes and high-visibility clothing) and following all on-site instructions. Visitors enter and remain on the premises at their own risk.
Follow Your Lots
Visit the page of the lot you are interested in and click the 🖤 (heart) icon at the top. The lot will then appear in your “Followed lots” list.
All followed lots are listed on the “Follow your lots” page (🖤 icon at the top).
Click again on the 🖤 icon on the lot’s page — that will remove it from your followed list.
Placing Bid
Before you confirm your bid, you will see a summary of all applicable amounts. On top of your bid, a buyer’s premium and VAT are added. The buyer’s premium depends on the country of the auction. VAT is calculated over both your bid and the premium.
In “Follow your lots,” you can see all lots you have bid on. Lots where you are currently the highest bidder are marked with a green gavel; lots where you have been outbid get a red exclamation mark.
After the auction ends, Dome Auctions will finalize the awarding of lots and send invoices — no later than 48 hours after closing. Once you receive the invoice and complete payment, you can plan the transport or pickup for the lot.
Go to the lot’s page. On the right side, enter your bid. Click “View your bid” to review the total costs, then “Place bid” to confirm. Once placed, a bid cannot be withdrawn. Alternatively, you can bid from your “Followed lots” page by clicking “Place your bid.” A two-step verification process helps avoid mistakes.
Sometimes several lots are offered together as one combined lot. These appear with a “[C]” symbol and reference the combination lot under the description. If you win a combination lot, you buy all included lots at once. Bidding on a combination lot also cancels your bids on the individual lots. If no one bids on the combination, the individual lots go to the highest bidders separately.
After you have received the invoice, you can be certain of your purchase. After the entire auction has closed, Dome Auctions strives to award the lots and send the invoices as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours.
No, the bidding process is set up in such a way – with two-step verification – that it is virtually impossible to place a bid by mistake. Before confirming your bid, you can still cancel it. However, once a bid is placed, it is binding and cannot be retracted.
An auto bid the User indicates the maximum price he is prepared to pay for the Lot. The auction system sees to it that, after outbidding by a third party, the minimally possible higher bid is introduced in the name of the User, as long as the maximum indicated by the User has not been reached. An auto bid can be eliminated by the User solely by placing a static bid that at that moment is the highest bid.
You can cancel your automatic bid by placing a static bid at the amount of the next minimum acceptable bid. At this point, you are still the highest bidder until you are outbid. It is not possible to cancel a bid.
Static Bid: A bid where you determine the fixed amount of your bid.
Auto-Bid: When you place a proxy bid, you indicate your maximum bid. The system will track the progress of the bids and, if necessary, will automatically outbid others on your behalf, up to the maximum amount you initially specified. If someone else places a higher bid than your auto-bid, you will no longer be the highest bidder and will be notified by email. If someone else places a static bid that matches your auto-bid, your auto-bid will take priority (an auto-bid beats a static bid).
Invoice & Payment
Log in, click on your name on the right side of the website — there you will see “invoices”. Click on it and you will find all the invoices issued to you.
Payment must be made by bank transfer. Cash is not accepted. Please transfer the total amount no later than 48 hours after you receive the invoice. The invoice includes the bank account details and an invoice number — be sure to reference that number.
If you are a private buyer, VAT is applied as shown on the invoice. For VAT-registered companies, VAT is only charged for domestic auctions. If your company is based outside the EU, VAT must be provided as a deposit.
No. We require the full amount to be transferred within 48 hours after issuing the invoice.
Once the lots have left the EU, your transport company will get a customs exit document. To reclaim your deposit, send the original exit document, your invoice, bank account number, and bank details to info@dome-auctions.com. After approval, we will transfer the refund to your account.
This depends on the bank and country of the buyer. In most cases, payments are processed directly, but sometimes it can take up to 1 business day before the payment becomes visible in our system.
No, all invoices need to be paid directly by the buyer. Payments made on behalf of the buyer will not be accepted.
If your payment status has not been updated yet, please check whether you included the invoice number with your payment. If not, send your proof of payment to info@dome-auctions.com so that we can manually verify your payment.
As an international buyer, we understand that international bank transfers may take longer to process, which can make it difficult to complete payment within 48 hours. If you are unable to make the payment within this timeframe, we kindly request that you send a SWIFT payment confirmation (MT103) to info@dome-auctions.com within 48 hours. This confirmation allows us to verify your payment and take the processing time of the international transfer into account. Once the funds have been received in our account, we will process your payment accordingly.
If your payment status has not been updated yet, please check whether you included the invoice number with your payment. If not, send your proof of payment to info@dome-auctions.com so that we can manually verify your payment.
No, we do not accept cash payments at the location. All invoices must be paid in advance via bank transfer.
Yes, in most cases this is possible. We kindly ask you to contact us via info@dome-auctions.com or by phone at +31 (0)20 808 2880. Our team will be happy to assist you with updating your invoice details.
Collection & transport
The pickup information will be provided together with your invoice. Should this information not yet be available, you will receive further notification in due course.
No, Dome Auctions does not arrange transport, buyers must organize transportation themselves.
No, the buyer is fully responsible for loading the lots. However, we will of course provide on-site assistance where possible.
Yes, this is possible. The person or transport company collecting the lots must be able to present your invoice and the collection QR code. Without these documents, the lots cannot be released.
No, lots must be collected on the scheduled collection days.
Buyers are responsible for the dismantling, loading, and transportation of their purchased lot(s). If required, external transport assistance may be arranged. Dome Auctions works with experienced logistics providers such as Auction Logistics B.V. All arrangements, including availability and pricing, are made directly between the buyer and the transport company.
No, packaging materials are not provided on-site. Buyers are fully responsible for arranging their own packaging and preparation. All lots are sold on an “as is, where is” basis, meaning they must be collected in their current condition and location without additional services.
Tender sale
At a tender sale (sale with registration) starting prices and bidding are not visible. Your bid is secret and cannot be seen by any other bidder.
How does it work?
You can bid in the same way as a regular online auction, you place the bid for the maximum amount you are prepared to pay for the lot. You can place several bids on the same lot but each bid you place must be higher than your previous bid.
You will receive a confirmation of each bid that you have placed and you can monitor your bidding here My followed lots on Dome Auctions.
After the tender sale closes the seller will decide as soon as possible if the lots will be allocated, and subsequently the bidders will be informed about the final decision accordingly.
